Every one of these sentences is short, ordinary Dutch, and every one of them costs points when it is skimmed. Read the instruction of each part once before the clock starts, in the practice tests, until the wording is familiar — on the day itself you want to spend your attention on the task, not on parsing the rubric.

Thirty seconds with a beginning, a middle and an end

The speaking part rewards structure, not beauty. Three plain sentences that finish score above one elegant sentence that runs out of time, and the machine gives you nothing to lean on — no nod, no «go on». If you learned to structure an explanation for a patient in unit 20, you already have half of this: position, example, conclusion.

Reading against the clock

Forty questions in a hundred minutes is not a vocabulary test, it is a search task. Read the question first, locate the paragraph, and only then read closely. The two wrong options that feel right are built from the text's own words in the wrong relation — which is why guessing on word recognition fails systematically rather than randomly.
